About Us

Flensburg Association for Energy Management-Nepal (FAEM-Nepal) is an association formed by Nepalese students who have studied at the University of Flensburg, Germany as well as other students who have studied energy-related courses in other German Universities. It is an independent, service-oriented institution established to bring both former and current Nepalese students from these Universities together in one forum to work towards sustainable energy management solutions.

Program Support Unit

To implement the program activities and establish smooth coordination with other organizations, FAEM Nepal has formed a Program support unit headed by programme coordinator, Mr. Bhupendra Shakya and an office has established in Buddha Nagar, Kathmandu. Zentralstelle fur Arbeitsvermittlung (ZAV) an organization from Germany has provided financial support for the post of Programme Coordinator for one year from October 2005 to September 2006.

Activities:

FAEM-Nepal with support from German Academic Exchange Program (DAAD) organized a seminar on “Role of Renewable Energy and Sustainable Development Agenda for Nepal” from 13th to 15th May 2004 in Kathmandu, Nepal. FAEM Nepal has already conducted research and consulting services for different energy related projects like,

  • “A Study On The Socio-Economic Feasibility Study For End Use Diversification In Improved Water Mill And Integration Of Other Income Generating Activities Around IWM Sites” for Centre for Rural Technology, Nepal (CRT/N) October 2005
  • “Orientation Training for Distict Level NGOs on AET/RETs” for Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC) in joint venture with Universal Consultancies Services Pvt. Ltd. (UCS), Balaju, 13 March 2006
  • "Quality Verification of IWM as precondition for release of outstanding 10% subsidy for all established sites” for Centre for Rural Technology, Nepal (CRT/N), May 5, 2006.
